by John Harris Fitness

Fitness technology has come a long way and can no longer be ignored. Starting from smartwatches to smart drinking. In order to maximize your potential as an athlete, there are a variety of smart fitness gadgets that can help you out. Thanks to advanced technology, you can analyze every aspect of your workout performance and body to stabilize your strengths and improve your weaknesses.

Sometimes it's not so easy to achieve the fitness goals you set, especially when you have to consider optimizing aspects like hydration, heart rate, calorie intake and other data. Smart fitness gadgets can help you achieve your goals, improve your health and reach your level of athleticism. Fitness gadgets won't accomplish the sport for you, of course. However, they can be a very good motivator to help you get in better shape.

Smartwatch

Fitness trackers are the must-have gadget for all sports fans in 2019. The smart fitness wristbands show your workout progress via app and help you get fit for the summer. Whether training in the gym, running, cycling or swimming - the smart trackers show the most important data such as heart rate, calories burned, distance covered, lap times and much more on your display for every activity. Garmin, Polar, Fitbit, Samsung and Apple Watch are among the most popular fitness trackers.

Sleep Tracker

Sleep is one of the most important factors in regeneration, because at night while you are asleep numerous building and repair mechanisms run unnoticed.

How nice would it be if a personal sleep tracker could actually track all your missing sleep and bring it back. Unfortunately, that's not quite how sleep trackers work, but they can still give you a few pointers on how to sleep better in the future.

Sleep trackers provide sleep monitoring of falling asleep, sleep stages (light, deep and REM sleep) and waking up. It also measures movement, heart rate and breathing rate. Meanwhile, many fitness trackers (e.g. Fitbit) and smartphones also have a sleep tracker.

Smart drinking

Did you know that water is essential for kidneys and other bodily functions? The amount of water per day varies from person to person; on average, men are said to drink 3.7 liters and women 2.7 liters. This is where the Smart Bottle (e.g. Ozmo Active) comes in. This bottle measures your fluid intake and calculates suggested fluid intake based on your personal data. This means that if you sweat more often, you will need a little more water than if you don't exercise.

Smart Scale

Modern technology is supposed to make our lives easier. This is also for our body weight measurements. First it was manual scales, then the digital offspring and now so-called smart scales are trending. These are scales that can be connected to a smartphone via WLAN and/or Bluetooth. Very handy to analyze your development when changing your diet and doing sports at the same time. Most models not only measure weight, but also body fat, muscle mass, bone density and BMI.

Skulpt Performance Training System

Skulpt is a remarkable tracker that allows you to see a lot of detailed statistics about your activity and fitness. Among other things, there is the option to measure the body fat percentage in 24 different parts of the body and perform an in-depth muscle analysis. Also, Skulpt can provide some workout tips and instructions to help you build more muscle, increase your strength or burn fat.

Smart Recovery

Even when it comes to a recovery phase, the fitness market offers some smart technologies.

Textured and smooth foam rollers have been on the market for a while, and they help athletes and hobbyists alike release muscle aches and pains. But there is a new subset of foam rollers and they are vibrating foam rollers. Vibrating rollers combine vibration therapy with deep fascia massage. Various studies have shown that vibrating foam rollers have increased resistance to pain, faster recovery time and a wider range of motion compared to regular rollers.

The Theragun is as close to a torture device as fitness equipment can get. The brand makes professional therapy equipment, which are actually fast-moving, targeted foam roller. It hurts just as much as foam rollers or deep massage, as it basically does the same job, just more efficiently. This is because Theragun is designed to relieve muscle tension, break up scar tissue and increase blood flow. Developed largely for athletes, physical therapists, and fitness professionals, it is a great tool.

As you can see, the sports and health industry is progressing in the technology sector. Do you use any of the above fitness gadgets in your workouts?
