When applying in response to an advertisement, review all requirements and qualifications carefully before sending any documents. Your first presence in the company will be through the written application documents.

Letter of motivation
Please list the position you are seeking, as advertised, in the subject line. In the letter, you have the opportunity to tell us about your motivation for the position you are seeking and to highlight your qualifications that make you the ideal candidate. The motivation letter should be short, concise and meaningful.

Curriculum Vitae/Curriculum Vitae
Make sure to present your personal data in a clear form (tabular curriculum vitae). Start with your current or most recent job. Please also attach a photo of yourself to the resume. Our tip: A digital photo attached to your resume saves you money and cannot be lost.

What information should not be missing in any case:
1. address
2. telephone number where you can be easily reached
3. e-mail address
4. type, duration, and brief description of previous employment relationships

Employment references, course attendance certificates
Please send us your references together with your curriculum vitae. Confirmations of courses attended, however, only if they are longer-term courses. You can still bring course documents to the interview.

Please note the following for electronic attachments
1. use standard formats, such as .doc (MS Word); .odt (Libre Office, Open Office); .pdf (Acrobat); .jpg (images)
2. a scanned document should not exceed 1.5 MB (max. size). Total size of all attachments should not exceed 5 MB.
3. before sending, check again the composition and also that it is possible to open all attachments without any problems.

Of course, you can apply for several positions at the same time with one letter. Nevertheless, do not forget your reasons for motivation for the individual positions!

Of course! Your application will be sent to the central HR department, where it will be processed and, if there is a need for personnel, assigned to the individual departments. It is therefore also not necessary to apply separately for a desired position in each club.

Of course, you have! We welcome career changers from a wide range of industries.
We treat all applications with respect and the necessary care and check them for qualifications that we need. We always give jobs to people who have different career backgrounds and have consistently had good experiences with them. It is very important that you look into the industry, the working environment and the field of activity in advance! Only in the selection of trainers we have to require a profound education: Professional experience also desirable here.. As a premium fitness club, we are committed to our members to employ only highly qualified trainers.

Tip: Visit some fitness clubs as a customer and also try to see the environment through the eyes of a potential employee. Actively engage with the fitness and health industry!

Ask yourself questions such as: "Do I really feel comfortable in this environment?"; "Can I even imagine a career in an industry that is (still) foreign to me?"; "Is the casual outward manner also compatible with my personality?"; "How do I myself keep up with fitness?"

If it does not come to a personal interview, then unfortunately we cannot give you any personal feedback, (since it is a large amount of applications). Subsequently, if you wish, you will be informed about the reasons for our rejection.

You can, of course. For another position, your profile may fit better; or you may have acquired the necessary qualifications in the meantime.

We are a 100% service company in the fitness industry. Thus, we are primarily always looking for employees for the areas of reception and bar with gastronomic and/or (hotel) reception background.

In the fitness area, the minimum requirement is "instructional supervisor" or comparable, as well as several years of work experience in upscale fitness clubs.

Of course, we also have a Sales & Marketing department, in which either the employees act centrally, or control the sales in the individual clubs. The company is managed centrally with accounting, customer service and management.

The HR department attaches particular importance to a balanced mix of so-called hard and soft factors (hard and soft skills) when selecting personnel.

When it comes to hard skills, it depends on the position to be filled. Good English and excellent German are definitely very important for a company like John Harris Fitness with a high proportion of international clientele. Being able to do several things at once, as well as being well organized, is also part of this.

In terms of soft skills, communication skills-in all departments(!) - have become increasingly important. Especially with regard to leading employees. You must not be afraid of contact or have deficits in dealing confidently with international and upscale clientele. Furthermore, networked thinking and working is increasingly becoming a key qualification. Solution and goal orientation, conflict resolution skills and the ability to work in a team are also important prerequisites for a career at John Harris Fitness.

Working at John Harris Fitness means movement, and that also in a figurative sense. As a leading company in the fitness industry, absolute customer orientation, the idea of performance, leadership, integrity and teamwork are not just buzzwords, but corporate philosophy in action!

We want to fulfill our educational mission and have recently started hiring young people who want to do an apprenticeship as a fitness instructor. We are convinced that we can offer these young and dedicated people a great and extensive apprenticeship!

We only provide a very limited number of apprenticeships each year, so we are very meticulous and strict when selecting our junior staff. Furthermore, we only look for junior staff who also know what they want, understand the business environment and live fitness themselves seriously and honestly. By living fitness, we mean “healthy fitness”; we are the wrong company for budding bodybuilders and extreme athletes.

So, if you know exactly what you want and are looking to apprentice for the next 3 years, have looked into us as a company, and have given serious thought to the fitness industry, you are our candidate!
